My husband, Scott and I have been keeping a secret for several weeks.  But now, we can finally tell the world that we are having a baby!  Little Baby Kinney is due to arrive on June 26th.  We are thrilled!

I've been blogging about it since the begining and now that the news is out, I can post those blogs for all to see.  It will take me some time to post those so check back this afternoon to read them.

If you have any tips or advice on pregnancy...I'd love to hear it.  Email me - Tracey@q100atlanta.com

Love,

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Hi Tracey! Congratulations!!!
I am also expecting my 1st child on March 23rd, and I am having a little boy!!!

Since you are past the 1st trimester, it will be pretty smooth now. Just keep up your nutrition, and WATER is very important! DRINK LOTS!!!

Also, when you get to be about 30 weeks, you can have a 3d ultrasound which I am going to have soon! If you are interested in that, here is the website for the place I went to: 3dbaby.net

Best
wishes, and Congrats again!!!

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Hey Tracey! Congraulations :) I am due on June 27th and we are so excited! I just wanted to let you know that there is a great group of women on the www.babycenter.com community board. We are the June 2009 group and everyone is super supportive and very knowledgable!

Hopefully you've been able to have an ultrasound done. I've had three, due to spotting at five weeks. I am now 12weeks 4days and we have been able to see the little one swimming all around! We go for our NT testing on Monday and hope to find out the sex! I almost opted out of the genetic testing however you get an extensive ultrasound and just wanted to see the baby again!

Good luck and drink LOTS of water! Many blessings to you and your husband for such an awesome little miracle!

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Congratulations Tracey! The only advice I have for you is to wait until the birth to find out whether it's a girl or boy. I know it will be hard, but it is one of life's greatest surprises and the wait will be well worth it!

Re: We're Having A Baby!

CONGRATS!!!! I ate candy to get rid of heartburn. Enjoy every second of it as much as possible. Take lots of pictures of your belly and don't worry about weight. Try to get ready with everything the nursery for my son was ready when I was 7 months preg. and he was born 5 weeks early because of complications. I was glad I was ready. Finding out the sex is up to everyone my brother and wife did not find out with their first one and they regretted it a little bit because it was too expensive buying last minute things.
ENJOY IT!!!! Congrats

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Congrats!!! It's exciting to be pregnant, it's even more exciting to have that baby in your arms for the first time. Dont listen to the "professionals" when they tell you not to hold that child because it will spoile them. My son just turned 6 and I STILL hold him!! One of these days he's not going to want mom to be mushy like that!! Dont take it for granted! Spoil that child with LOVE!!! A friend of mine went to build a bear with a recording of her childs heart beat and put that in the bear! I thought that was a GREAT idea. Also, you can cast your belly! That is an awesome thing to do!! Anyways, Congrats. Ohhh...and get used to people randomly touching your belly! It's not going to stop no matter how much you want it too! My grandmother would hug my belly and talk to him and ignore me! HAHA Live it up! People will do everything for you! Have a wonderful Christmas!!!

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Congratulations, Tracey & Dad! Isn't it the most awesome feeling? I agree completely with Dawn, and to both of you, my son is now 14...and still has no issue in public hugging me, kissing my cheek, saying love you, Mom! And no, he's not in the least a "mama's boy"!

Best wishes!

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Congratulations! Motherhood is such a beautiful thing. As someone else mentioned babycenter.com is an excellent resource, I lived on the site the entire time I was pregnant. When you get close to your due date try to walk as much as possible, my doctor reccomended it and it really helped to get the baby to turn and get into position early.

My husband and I are having a baby too!!!

My husband and I are actually expecting our first child on June 4th, 2009. That makes us only a few weeks apart :) I'm very nervous and have no clue what to expect. I wish you all the luck and happiness in the world.

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Congrats Tracey! My advice would be to enjoy it. That sounds weird, but I missed being pregnant, that feeling that it's just you and the baby, and feeling the baby move and kick. It's just such a sweet and bonding time, that when you have them you actually miss having them all to yourself.

Also, when I was pregnant with both of my children, I rented a baby doppler and would come home every day from work and listen to them move and their heartbeats. It was really special, and it's not very expensive to rent. Here's the website: www.babybeat.com

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Congrats to you and your hubbie! You are in for quite the journey!
Only advice that I have is that if you are getting lots of morning sickness, what worked for me was drinking a glass of cranberry juice every morning with a Brewer's Yeast tablet (you can get those at any vitamin store or natural foods market)! It worked miracles and I was SICK for months with my twins! Loved it!! I went on to have 7lb full term twins!

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Tracey CONGRATULATIONS!!! The best advice I can give, as I did it myself just recently, is to go ahead and buy diapers and wipes with each paycheck. I and my husband did that and now after almost 6 months, I just bought my first pack of diapers this week! It helped offset the unexpected cost of formula. Not only did I have to put my daughter on it sooner than planned, but she had such a sensitive stomach, we had to get the absolute most expensive kind until we figured out we could get her some medicine that would help with her problem. So paying $250 a month on formula was much more bareable because we didn't have to buy diapers and wipes until just now. Hope this helps!

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Congratulations Tracey and Scott! The only piece of advice I can give goes right along with what Heidi said. Go for a diaper shower. My best friend did this two years ago and didn't need to buy diapers for a year! My sister is due in August and she is having one. Good luck Mom and Dad!

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Congratulations, Tracey! What an exciting time this must be for you and Scott! I just read that you bought a house in Historic Marietta - That's Fabulous!!! My husband and I both grew up in Marietta and currently live near the Avenues of West Cobb - Don't you just LOVE the Square??? Best wishes for a happy and healthy pregnancy! - Kati

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Hey Tracey!
Just thought I would let you know that you should never read the books or watch TLC when you are pregnant. You start to think all the worse things and it is so much stress on one person. I work in an OB office and tell people all the time please do not read the book What to Expect When Your Expecting...It will drive you insane..And TLC baby story is worse.
Good luck and congrats!!

Re: We're Having A Baby!

I am so happy for you. I am a proud mother of two amazing children. Of course I am still asking myself how I do it everyday cause I have a career as a sales rep for Loreal but I do and it is rewarding.

This morning ya'll were talking on the show about boob enlargement during pregnancy. I had the same problem I like you was a 32B and by my 9th month I was a 34DDD. They were sore all the time but I love my pictures from the early part of my pregnancy cause I thought having boobs was awesome since I had been so small for so long. They did shrink back down but only to a 34C.

Good luck

congrates and help

Hi Tracey, congratulations on the arrival of your first I hope that he/she is healthy vibrant newby. I know that this is kind of strange and all but I have been trying to contact you all about a segment you have on the Bert show called "the one that got away". Again I know that this is probably the wrong venue for these particular questions: Are the people you recconnect limited to this state? And how do I go about being a participant. If you could help me I WOULD BE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL. (404)447-3740

P.S: I LOVE THE BERT SHOW IT TOTALLY ROCKS, BEEN A LISTENER FOR 10 YEARS AND i ONLY 20.

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Actually, I am going to be a grandmother today. My daughter went in last night to Northside Hospital. She will be induced today about 10Am. Abigail Grace should make an entrance about 3:00PM. YEY.
Grandpa and I will get to the Hospital about 10AM.

At 3:00pm, my oldest daughter will be in the Northside Hospital radiology dept for a CT Scan. They think she has Crohn's disease.

CONGRATULATIONS on the baby !! However, Tracey, try not to be induced. The fun and excitement is not there. It is too calculated.

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Hi Tracy,

Actually I would like to THANK YOU for compalining about your pregnancy weight on the air. It was really comforting to know that someone else is going through the same thing I am. i am 30 and preggars w/my first child due mid July. Like you, I have never had to worry about my weight. I knew I would gain weight through this process but wasn't expecting to gain so much on my thighs and my bottom and everywhere else!! I could deal w/it but just scared I won't be able to take it off, especially since I now have lots of cellulite which they say is so difficult/impossible to get rid of once you have. So thanks for opening up - it really made me feel better to know this is something we all go through w/motherhood. And you aren't alone either...know how you feel.

Congratulations!!

Re: We're Having A Baby!

If you breastfeed it is a lot easier to lose the weight. Also when you go back to work you'll be burning tons of calories with that during the day then baby care at night. But don't worry, it's a lot of fun, the best thing I've ever done. When they snuggle on your neck it's all worth it. Just remember, they get a lot better around 3-4 months.

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Hey Tracy,

I was listening to the Bert show this morning and heard about your difficult time with nursing. I have been a pediatric nurse for 11 years now and see this alot. The first thing is that you should not feel that you are doing something wrong. One thing that we recommend is the use of vaseline after every feed. This will help with the cracking and bleeding that may occur. Also I know this sounds crazy but we often tell moms to apply heat to the nipple with a wash cloth to give moisture before feeding. Now I know that may be hard due to your schedule. Thanks for all you do. The show really gets me going in the morning. I wish you all the best.

Re: We're Having A Baby!

Hi,
I am a young mother and you asked for advice and I may not be the best person for the job but...when i had my daughter everyone told me to put her on a schedule...i did not and she slept through the night by the time she was a month old. Let her eat when she wants to and just play with her and keep her entertained and she will realize when night comes and she will sleep like a baby (he he). Anyways...Congrats on the new addition. :)

About Producer Tracey

The Bert Show Producer

Hi there!  Thanks for listening to The Bert Show!  I really do have a great job. I don't know many people who get paid to goof off for a living. I also happen to work with great people who make me laugh on the air and off.  I will admit that the hours are grueling.  I get up every morning at 3:45 and I'm often working well into the evening.  I've worked on The Bert Show for almost 5 years now.  I can't believe it's been that long!  I can't believe I started as a single 22 year old intern, fresh out of UGA without a care in the world!  Boy has my life changed...

During my years here at Q100, I met the love of my life...Scott.  We go married on June 30th, 2007.  I am so thankful that wedding planning is behind me!   My husband and I also bought our first house too!  We have an adorable home in Historic Marietta!  Everything in my life is so fresh and new...new husband, new family, new house, and a new community.  I feel so fortunate!

When I'm not juggling The Bert Show, I love to cook and  I'm a Food Network fanatic.  My husband gets frustrated because our DVR is filled with every food network show that exists.  We compete for DVR space.  I think he records shows that he has no intention of watching just so he has more shows than I do.   And if you listen to The Bert Show than you may also know that I LOVE to organize.  Show me a messy closet and I'm in heaven.  I'll spend all weekend making it just perfect!  It may sound a bit neurotic but thank goodness that I am organized...someone has to keep The Bert Show in order!

I guess thats all for now. If your bored or want to know more, email me at Tracey@AllTheHitsQ100.com.

Ideal Image has given me silky, smooth, porcelain skin.  They can give it to you too!  Call them at 770-39-IMAGE!

Love,
Tracey
